Our current endowments are:

• Maurice Muller Endowment Fund: Established in 2000, this fund is used for the education of persons involved in Liturgy or Social Justice.
• Nativity Parish Social Justice Ministry Fund: Established in 2004, this fund endows a Nativity staff position to promote Catholic Social Justice.
• Nativity Parish Faith Formation Scholarships: Established in 2006, this fund provides financial scholarships to Nativity parish children and adults in need making it possible for them to participate in Nativity Faith Formation, Nativity Youth Ministry, Nativity Sacramental Preparation Programs, and Youth, Youth Adults and Adult Retreat Experiences.
• Nativity Church of Fargo: Established in 2008, this is a general fund providing parish support for Nativity Church.

Basically, when you purchase TRIP gift cards from JPII Catholic Schools to take care of everyday needs, like groceries and gas, the church and the school get to keep between 2.5% and 10% of your gift card purchases, depending on the business’ contribution.

How about an easy example: You will need to buy groceries this week, and your favorite grocery store participates in the TRIP program with a 5% donation. The JPII Catholic Schools has purchased the $100 gift cards at the discounted rate of $95.You purchase the grocery card through the TRIP program (your $100 equals a full $100), and off to the to the grocery store you go. Nativity Parish and the JPII Catholic Schools get to keep $5.00 from the discount/contribution.

The list of participating businesses stretches coast to coast and includes gas, grocery stores, clothing and home good stores and restaurants.

TRIP is available after the 5:00, 9:15 and 10:45 masses. TRIP is also available on Monday and Friday mornings at all JPII Catholic Schools from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.

This means our main entrances to the church and the school will be closed until the construction is complete. However, the other entrances will be available for use. Also, our south west entrance (cafeteria) will be the only door with power assisted doors.

Cash & check contributions-delivered:  Received at the office no later than Noon on December 30, 2011 or placed in the December 31, 2011 5:00 PM mass collection. (There are no office hours on December 31^st.)

Cash & check contributions-mailed:  Postmarked no later than midnight on December 31, 2011.

Credit Card contributions: Requests for processing must be received at the office no later than Noon on December  30, 2011. (The IRS requires that transactions must be completed by December 31, 2011.  (Because of holiday office hours, we have set the December 30^th noon deadline.)

Remember, dropping contributions into the offering plate on Sunday, January 1, 2012 with a 12/31/11 date on the check DOES NOT  qualify. The IRS is very firm about this.
