Confirmation and First Eucharist for 3rd graders in 2008

Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist are available to any baptized child who has reached the 3rd grade. Three parent/child sessions preparing for the sacraments in mid-winter and concludes with the celebration of both Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist in the spring.

Preparation dates are:
Sunday, January 13 2:00-3:30 pm Nativity Church
Sunday, February 24 2:00-3:30 pm Nativity Church
Wednesday, March 12 6:30-7:30 pm Nativity Church

Practice with sponsor:
Wednesday, April 23 6:30-7:30 pm Nativity Church

Sacraments celebrated:
Friday, April 25 7:00 pm Nativity Church

Confirmation & First Eucharist Registration Forms may be picked up at the Nativity parish office or download from this site. Registration forms are due by January 11, 2008.

The Faithful Revolution: Vatican II
Going Deeper, our adult faith formation on Wednesdays meets in the Nazareth Room from 6:45 to 7:30 pm. This year’s focus is Vatican II. Filmed in the 1990’s before many of those who participated in Vatican II had died, The Faithful Revolution shows the historical events using materials relevant to the time.

Dates:
Oct. 3 and 10 Genius of the Heart deals with change and tradition.

Nov. 7 and 14 Inspired Awakening concentrates on 3 areas: Liturgy, Laity and Ecumenism.

No sessions in December

Jan. 16 and 23 Human Dignity deals with our calling to work with the poor.

Feb. 13 and 27 A world Transformed emphasizes Vatican II’s impact.

March 5 and 12 Dynamics of Hope opens dialogue on carrying on the legacy.

April 2: How does Vatican II affect Free Childcare available Wednesday evenings for participants. Join us when you can for Vatican II.

Called to be...

Two times a month, October through April, a “team of catechists” will lead a small group of elementary children in a classroom setting. Our books, Call to Faith, featuring core elements of our Catholic faith are easy to follow and easy to teach. A new unit is introduced each month.
Once a month all catechists become part of the large group setting along with parents and elementary children. We all become learners together. We call this Parent Partnership. This year designated “lead catechists” will focus on Stories for the Journey; exploring and breaking open bible stories.
We walk together as disciples of Christ…..you are never alone! Please prayerfully consider being a classroom team catechist or maybe take on a month as a lead catechist for Parent Partnership. Call Kathy, 232-2414 or kathyb@nativitycatholicchurch.net.
