Nativity Church and the Nativity Knights are partnering on a wonderful Social Justice project: Habitat For Humanity’s Apostle Build, which will help bring affordable housing to our community.
This summer, starting in early August, Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity breaks ground on a 4-plex townhouse property at 1108 1 Ave. S. Fargo. Nativity Knights of Columbus and the Nativity Parish were the first to respond to the “Apostles Build”, which brings together area churches to construct houses in partnership with families in need. Because of the generosity of Brother Knights, Nativity parishioners and the community, we have met the 1st of our two goals: funding the “build days”. Our 2nd goal will be to provide the people-power for four build-days. Our efforts to help Habitat has been rewarded with the opportunity to be in on Build Day #1 (Saturday August 08: wall framing and sheathing) – What an honor! Our other days are: Friday August 21, Wednesday September 02 and Tuesday September 29. Sign up sheets will be in the Fireside room after all Masses, or call Cathy Schwinden [232-2414- Ext 136], Paul Kochmann [588-4478] or Karl Nesler [293-8160] to let on of them know which days you will be able to work. Don’t miss this heartwarming opportunity to make a difference in a needy family’s life!
