Our theme for the God’s Gift Appeal 2010:
“For we are God’s co-workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” (I Cor. 3:9)
Â
In St. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians we are encouraged to use the gifts God has given us to further His kingdom. We are asked to build a solid Christian foundation by knowing and living His teachings. We must carefully build upon His solid foundation since no other foundation can be laid.
We are His co-workers and His partners. We are God’s temple. His spirit lives in us! He also created and called us to be prudent stewards. We are to share the gift of time and treasure for the benefit of all. Each one of us does the work the Lord has given us to do. The quality of each person’s work will be seen when the days of Christ exposes it. It is through these charitable works that the Catholic Church’s evangelization helps lead all of us to Christ’s eternal promise.
We, are sisters and brothers in Christ, trust in God’s Divine Providence. We rejoice in His word, and recognize that we are stewards of a precious treasure; our Catholic faith. We are asked to preserve and share the faith with future generations. God’s Gift Appeal unites us as we share our God given blessings through special diocesan programs and ministries designed for those who are in need.
The 2010 God’s Gift Appeal presents our parish community of Nativity an opportunity to return a just a portion of all that God has given us. Nativity Church of Fargo goal is $120,000.00. Our household participating goal is 549 family units. A mailing was done some time ago of an appeal brochure and pledge card explains how the appeal’s funds are allocated. With careful use of our individual and collective resources, we can respond to the very real needs of many, and become a more prayer parish community. If you need another pledge card and brochure, please call the parish office.
We urge you to trust fully in God’s providence. Prayerfully reflect on your personal commitment to His call. May we do His will and may all that we undertake be for the Glory and good of His people, now and for generations to come.
