The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is the “source and summit” for our lives as Christians. Preparing children to come to the table of the Lord for the first time is a significant moment in their lives and the life of our Church community.

Our preparation process help our children grow spiritually toward an understanding of the power of the Eucharist, and their responsibility to share the gift of Jesus with others. Children must be baptized before beginning preparation for this sacrament. A copy of your child’s baptism certificate will be needed if they were not baptized at Nativity Church.

Children in grade 3 are invited to celebrate their Sacrament of First Eucharist in the spring of 2013.

The preparation phase for the Sacrament of First Eucharist for both parent and child includes Wednesday evening parent/child classes and one Sunday parent/child retreat.

Preparation dates are as follows:

Wednesday class, April 3, 6:30-7:30 PM, Nativity Church

Wednesday class, April 10, 6:30-7:30 PM, Nativity Church

Wednesday class, April 17, 6:30-7:30 PM, Nativity Church

Sunday retreat, April 21, 1:00-4:00 PM, Nativity Church

Wednesday practice with sponsors, April 24, 6:30-7:30 PM, Nativity Church

The Sacrament of First Eucharist will be celebrated at Nativity Church on Sunday, May 5, 2013 during the 11:00 AM liturgy.
