The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is the “source and summit” for our lives as Christians. Preparing children to come to the table of the Lord for the first time is a significant moment in their lives and the life of our Church community. Our preparation process help our children grow spiritually toward an understanding of the power of the Eucharist, and their responsibility to share the gift of Jesus with others. Children must be baptized before beginning preparation for this sacrament. A copy of your child’s baptism certificate will be needed if they were not baptized at Nativity Church.

Regular attendance and active participation in a faith formation program is required for the reception of Confirmation and First Eucharist.  All third grade children and above preparing to receive Confirmation and First Eucharist must also have been prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Special preparation handouts are given to the family to be completed at home.  Wednesday evening sessions and Sunday afternoon parent/child retreats at Nativity Church are scheduled for each sacrament.

Parent and child preparation sessions includes two Wednesday evening sessions and one Sunday afternoon session.
