Parish Lenten Service Project 2014

“Change for Change”

Heifer International is a non-profit organization that helps people all over the world by giving them farm animals and teaching them how to care for them.  Heifer has helped over 62 million men, women and children in over 125 countries.

Our 5th graders in Faith Formation are leading us on our 2014 LENTEN SERVICE PROJECT this year.  All children will be filling their animal jars with change to purchase animals.  By purchasing an animal the family’s health and standard of living improves by the many benefits their animal can provide – milk, eggs, wool, fertilizer, etc…

When a gift goat has its first female kid or a gift ewe has its first lamb, the person passes on the gift to a neighbor.  A family with goat milk and cheese or with wool to spin into items for sale can feed their children and send them to school.

It’s a matter of justice!   Please support our Lenten Service Project by sending a check made out to “Nativity Church” and designate in the memo what animal you would like to help purchase.  Please attention this check towards the Heifer Project.  Thank you!
