This amazing story adds to our Advent journey by taking us on a trip through Mexico, where Mary honored a poor farmer named Juan Diego with her presence and power. But really, this story is part of the entire Advent journey. Mary is honored by us because of her steadfast faith in God. She believed \u2013 as we all want to \u2013 that God would remain with her and would never leave her. During the season of Advent, we prepare our own hearts with this same faith. This is a time for us to grow ever closer to Mary\u2019s Son, Christ.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All the ways in which we honor Mary are, in fact, meant to draw us closer to Christ. They all lead to the wonder and power of God. This was Mary\u2019s Honor: to lead us all to Christ; and this honor of Mary\u2019s continues today. Advent is a time for us to grow closer to Mary in order to honor her and her great ministry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Share with others or ponder alone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What is your own relationship with Mary like? How do you pray with Mary, and how does she lead you to Christ?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Take action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spend some time in quiet reflection today, with the TV and music turned off. Use this time to simply sit quietly with Mary and Christ. Ask them to help you prepare for Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Prepare my heart to receive you, O Christ. Send your Holy<br \/>\nSpirit to guide me by the light of your word.
