Faith Formation 2020-2021

Dear Faith Formation families,

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know we, your Nativity parish-family, are doing all we can to make the right adjustments for both you and your children to be safe as we begin our 2020-2021 Faith Formation process this year amid the Covid-19 safety policies.  Note that we will “kick-off” the year with a meeting for parents of Grades 1-8 all together on September 23, 6:30 PM in the church.

We are so fortunate at Nativity parish to have the space to stretch out and practice social distancing as we accommodate parents, children and youth during our Wednesday evening sessions.   All we ask of you is for everyone to wear a face covering when at Nativity and continue to wash your hands and use hand sanitizer.   This is the best way to be considerate of others and keep one another safe.

  • Parent Partnership (Grades 1-5)

“Large Group Wednesdays” Nativity believes in a partnership where parents and parish work together in sharing faith with our young children in Grades 1-5.  Therefore, we will be holding Large Group Wednesday sessions the first Wednesday of each month for all parents and their elementary age children together the entire time in the church.

Small session Wednesdays….your choice.   Parents and their elementary age children are more than welcome to attend our additional In-church small sessions or they are welcome to stay home and continue teaching lessons from their religion textbook at home with their children.   The decision to attend the In-church small sessions will be left up to parents and their unique family situation.

  • W.O.W. – Wired on Wednesday (Grades 6-8)

“In-Person Wednesdays” – Two to three Wednesdays a month Fr. Bill Gerlach will address junior high youth together as a large group in the Cafeteria/Middle Room as we begin class from 6:30-7:00 PM.  In addition, social distancing small group sessions, led by Fr. Bill, Ed Tupa and other adult catechists, will be planned for each separate grade level from 7:00-7:40 PM.

  • LinC – Life In Christ (Grades 9-12)

“In-Person Wednesdays” -Two to three Wednesdays a month Fr. David Michael and Brent Hermans, our Youth Minister, will gather with senior high youth for their “Life in Christ” sessions as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Youth Room and the entire Nativity campus will be available for both large and small group sessions running from 7:45-9:15 PM.
