Almighty eternal God, source of all compassion,
\nthe promise of your mercy and saving help fills our hearts with hope.
\nHear the cries of the people of Syria;
\nbring healing to those suffering from the violence,
\nand comfort to those mourning the dead.
\nEmpower and encourage Syria’s neighbors
\nin their care and welcome for refugees.
\nConvert the hearts of those who have taken up arms,
\nand strengthen the resolve of those committed to peace.
\nO God of hope and Father of mercy,
\nyour Holy Spirit inspires us to look beyond ourselves and our own needs.
\nInspire leaders to choose peace over violence
\nand to seek reconciliation with enemies.
