This week, thousands of faith activists across the country are showing their support for the Dream Act with the Pray with Dreamers Week of Action.
\nDeferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) will end on March 5, and every day that passes without Congressional action means more suffering, anxiety, and fear in the lives of Dreamers, their families, and our communities. Legislative solutions like the Dream Act allow us to fulfill our faith mandate to love our neighbor. Dreamers are our neighbors, and their home is here in the U.S.
\nIn addition to prayer, there are multiple ways you can participate in the Pray With Dreamers Week of Action:
\nWrite Letters to the Editor. Almost every day, articles about Dreamers, DACA, or increased border security appear in newspapers across the country. Consider taking a minute to respond with a brief message to affirm your support for Dreamers and the Dream Act as a person of faith and emphasize that legislation needs to be passed quickly without additional border militarization or an increased deportation force.
\nCall your Members of Congress. Dial 1-888-496-3502 to reach your Representative\u2019s office and dial 1-888-410-0619 to reach your Senator\u2019s office (call twice to reach both Senators). When you call, this is what you can say: \u201cHi my name is [NAME] and I\u2019m a constituent from [TOWN]. As a person of faith, I believe we are called to love our neighbors. Please do all you can to support the Dream Act (S. 1615\/H.R. 3440) and bring it up for a vote before December.\u201d
