Opportunities to Give Thanks

This year’s Thanksgiving Day offertory collection will benefit Presentation Partners in Housing and Giving+Learning.

 Presentation Partners in Housing has established an outstanding record in assisting families at risk of losing their housing and isone of our Care and Share Ministries. Clients are  carefully interviewed and receive a variety of referrals, as well as direct help from PPH. 

Giving+Learning provides tutoring and mentors for new Americans seeking to improve their English skills to meet a variety of goals – to pass their driver’s test, to gain their Certified Nursing Assistant credential , to become citizens and to enter fully into community life. The program is headquartered at Riverview, with a number of Riverview residents serving as mentors.

Bishop Nicholas Surprise will make it possible to share essential items with families in need -soap, body lotion, shampoo, deodorant,toothbrush, toothpaste, chapstick, etc…

In the spirit of Christian joy our Nativity Parish will be collecting personal care items as a surprise for families of the Nokomis Childcare Center and for those who attend the Mental Health America of North Dakota support groups and their social center.

The children in Faith Formation will decorate and assemble the small bags and have them delivered as
a surprise on December 7, in the spirit  of the Feast Day of St. Nicholas.
